Explore Charlottetown by Horse-Drawn Trolley

Take an old-fashioned journey and see why Charlottetown is called “the city of churches and trees.” Your horse-drawn trolley pulled by a pair of magnificent Clydesdales will take you through historic downtown Charlottetown filled with quaint shops and wonderful examples of Victorian architecture. You’ll pass historic Great George Street, Province House National Historic Site, Confederation Centre of the Arts and Founders’ Hall-Canada’s Birthplace Pavilion.

Fresh, Local Seafood Experiences

A culinary walking tour is a great way to sample the local cuisine, meet the locals, and learn some history. Or, if you’re only going to enjoy one great meal while you’re here, you must try the lobster. After all, there’s a reason why it’s considered among the best in the world.

Historic Walking Tours

Set out on a beautiful, entertaining, and educational walking tour from Founders’ Hall through the historic city streets, led by a costumed guide. Stroll up charming Great George Street and learn all about life in PEI in the 1800s.

Ask about the crooked, six-foot deep sidewalks. There are several tours to choose from, but you can’t go wrong!

Anne of Green Gables

When the novel Anne of Green Gables was published in 1908, most people could only dream of visiting its magical setting. Since then, millions of fans have travelled to Prince Edward Island to discover the place that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery’s stories and characters.

At the national historic site of Green Gable Heritage Place visitors can walk in the footsteps of one of Canada's most celebrated authors and immerse themselves in the landscape that inspired the setting of Anne of Green Gables. Part of L.M. Montgomery's Cavendish National Historic Site, Green Gables tells the story of both the author, L.M. Montgomery, and her most famous heroine, Anne Shirley. Explore the new visitor centre, original house, 19th century gardens, farmyard, walking trails - including the Haunted Wood and Lovers Lane - gift shop and The Cordial Café.
